Ambassador Andrei Kelin speaks at Harrow School
On 6 October, 2020 Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United Kingdom Mr Andrei Kelin delivered a speech at Harrow School, one of the oldest and most prominent British private schools for boys.
His Excellency spoke on the history of Russia-UK relations and their current state, including prospects of further development against the background of Brexit, the coronavirus pandemic and escalation of political tensions between Moscow and London after the incident in Salisbury.
After his speech Mr Kelin answered the students’ numerous questions on a broad agenda, including the adoption of amendments to the Constitution of Russia; joint Russia-UK projects in education, science and culture; foreign students’ studies in Russia; situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, Kyrgyzstan and the Middle East; Russia-China cooperation; Russia-US relations and other topical issues.
The Ambassador also got acquainted with the history of Harrow School, including visiting its oldest building which dates back to 1615.
