President Putin’s congratulations to Russia’s Muslims on Kurban Bairam holiday
The Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Muslims of Russia on the occasion of the main Islamic holiday, Kurban Bairam.
The message reads, in part:
Over the centuries this holiday has been permeated with the feelings of warmth and love. It brings people closer together, affirms the ideals of kindness, compassion and respect in society, and reveals the depth of Islam’s timeless spiritual values.
The Muslim community in Russia makes a significant contribution to the development of inter-religious and inter-ethnic dialogue and promotes unity in our nation. It is actively involved in charity, the revival of family values, and combatting extremism and intolerance.
