Vladimir Putin: As G8 President, Russia will act in a considered, responsible and predictable manner
Russia's G8 Presidency is focused on combating threats to security and maintaining stable development, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the presentation of credentials ceremony.
"During its G8 Presidency, Russia will focus on searching for common approaches to combating present-day threats to security and maintaining stable development," the President said.
"Through joint efforts, we can resolve other pressing regional and global policy issues," Putin said.
According to the President, Russia will act in a considered, responsible and predictable manner, and will make every effort to promote fruitful cultural, inter-faith and inter-civilizational cooperation.
"Our goal is to prepare the ground for the G8 Summit, scheduled to take place in Sochi on June 4-5, and ensure its success," Putin emphasized.
